Time – 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. 
Concert Performance - 5:30 p.m. Open to all.

Cost - $35 per student

Description - The University of Toledo Department of Music invites you and your choral students to attend the 2025 High School Choral Festival with special guest clinician, . Participants will have the opportunity to perform with an elite chorus of their peers and learn from one of the most distinguished choral composers in North America. About the ClinicianShawn Kirchner, guest clinician for the 2025 ¹û¶³´«Ã½ High School Choral Festival

Shawn Kirchner is a composer, arranger, and songwriter based in Los Angeles whose choral works are performed throughout the world. His long creative relationship with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Artistic Director Grant Gershon culminated in his tenure as the ensemble’s Swan Family Composer in Residence from 2012-2015.

Kirchner’s commissions have included numerous premieres with the Los Angeles Master Chorale at LA’s Disney Hall, as well as writing for Conspirare, San Antonio Chamber Choir, Atlanta Master Chorale, Fort Worth Chorale, Lorelei Ensemble, Tonality, Princeton Chapel Choir, Rockefeller Chapel Choir, Golden Bridge, Choral Arts Northwest, and WomenSing.

Kirchner’s music can be heard on recordings by the LA Master Chorale, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Tonality, Oasis Chorale, Wartburg Choir, and Sacra/Profana, and his publishers are Boosey & Hawkes, Oxford University Press, Santa Barbara Music Publishing, and Shawn Kirchner Publishing.

2025 Festival Repertoire

TBD - Digital copies of performance music and learning materials will be emailed to each director following registration. Students are expected to attend the festival with the music learned.

What students should bring to the festival

    • Printed copies of the music (digital device such as an iPad is also acceptable)
    • Black folder
    • Water
    • Pencil
    • Concert attire – Blue jeans and a school or choir t-shirt/polo
