Norman Damschroder
Norman Damschroder joined the University of Toledo faculty in 1997. He serves as senior lecturer of jazz history and as an instructor of double bass. He holds a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Emphasis) degree from the University of Toledo and a Master of Music Performance degree from . His major teachers have been Mark Bernat, Tom Knific, Derek Weller, and Jeff Halsey.
As an active freelance bassist in the Toledo area, Damschroder has performed with jazz artists , , Ernie Krivda, Tim Ries, ; pop artists , , Sandy Patty, and others.
As a classically trained bassist, he has appeared in over 100 concerts with the and is currently a member of the Toledo Symphony Jazz Trio which performs regularly in concert and clinic programs throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
His duties at University of Toledo include teaching Applied Double Bass, Jazz History, Low String Methods, Jazz Improvisation, and Jazz Combos. In addition to his duties at UT, Damschroder serves on the faculty of the and has served on the faculties of Bowling Green State University and .听
