Plotter Instructions
Plotter is available to schedule for use Monday-Thursday, from 9am (first appointment slot) to 4pm (last appointment slot). Plotter will be not be available on holidays and according to 果冻传媒 closures (or as noted in the scheduling calendar).
- The guidelines and information below apply to students/faculty/staff in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM).
- Usage of the plotter (large format printer) located in the Dean's Office, WO 2246, is available to NSM students/faculty/staff who need to print posters for presentations, conferences, seminars, etc.
- Please use the link button above to schedule time to print using the NSM Plotter (usage without an appointment is not guaranteed).
Plotter Information (prior to your arriving for your appointment):
- Please bring poster/document file with you on a USB drive.
- Suggested document formats for best output are Adobe PDF or PowerPoint.
How-To's for plotter document printing:

- Open document with either Adobe Acrobat (PDF) or PowerPoint听
- File > Print > to Printer > HP DesignJet T1700dr
- Click on Properties >
- A new Print Dialogue box opens.
- Document Size > select one in drop-down that matches OR 鈥淐reate鈥 new size to match your document (max width is 42鈥)
- Scroll down to Document > Paper Type > select either HP Universal Bond (matte finish) or HP Universal Insta-Dry Satin Photo paper
- In the left-hand column, next to the above 鈥淧aper Type鈥, click the button (to blue) to Show Preview Before Printing (this allows you to double check layout)
- In the right-hand column, scroll down to the Output section and click the button (to blue) to turn on Cutting Lines (this shows you exactly where to cut excess paper)
- Scroll down to bottom and click 鈥淥K鈥 button in blue
You will now be back at the main 鈥淧rint鈥 dialogue screen. You can view the print preview one more time. If everything looks correct, select the PRINT button.As long as you selected the Show Preview Before Printing button, a final preview box will come up > HP Print Preview. If anything is not correct, select CANCEL. If all is correct, select PRINT.
Once you select print it typically takes 5-7 minutes for the plotter to print a document.
