Student Ambassadors
NSM Student Ambassadors serve as advocates and representatives for the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM) and The University of Toledo. The primary purpose of this position is to provide prospective students and their families/guests with an informative and enjoyable campus visit. NSM Student Ambassadors provide campus tours, participate in college presentations, answer questions at college events and generally promote both the college and university.

Danielle Adjei
Major: Biology, pre-med
Year: Sophomore
About me: I am a second-year biology major with a pre-medical concentration. Outside classes, I also participate in undergraduate research and student organizations such as the P.E.A.C.E project and Cru. Being a student in NSM has allowed me to explore my interests while developing meaningful connections with faculty and staff.
Alyssa Beach
Major: Biology and Biochemistry, pre-med
Year: Sophomore
About me: I am currently a sophomore majoring in Biology and Biochemistry with a minor in Communications on the Pre-Med track. I am very active on campus as a part of my sorority Kappa Delta and various clubs including Rockethon, Project Sunshine and Tri-Beta Biological Honors Society. Along with my involvement on campus I am also an active member in the Toledo community. I volunteer weekly at St. Anne Bonaventure Hospital in the surgery department.
Madison Carder
Major: Physics, astrophysics concentration
Year: Sophomore
About me: As a student majoring in astrophysics, I am intrigued by space and its astronomical bodies, like black holes. These mysteries of the universe captivate me and I am eager to understand them through my studies. Outside of academia, I enjoy going on long walks near local trails. Walking through Nature is a way to relax and enjoy my free time.

About me: Hi everyone, I am an international student from Nepal majoring in biochemistry. I would simply describe myself as a "learner" and an "explorer". Each day, I look forward to learning new things and exploring my limits. Collecting memories and experiences from people and surroundings is what excites me.

About me: I am a Pre-Medical student majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Entrepreneurship going into my junior year. I am from a small town called Miller City, where I graduated high school. I enjoy reading and being with my friends and family in my free time.
Lauren Jin
Major: Physics, applied physics concentration
Year: Sophomore
About me: I am a second-year honors physics student with research interests in theoretical nuclear and cosmological physics. I am also devoted to supporting NSM鈥檚 outreach programs processes and am currently working with the department to host the inaugural Ohio Physics Olympiad in spring of 2025 for high school students in Ohio. Outside of school, I am active as a pianist and accompany students of the Toledo and Metropolitan Detroit area. Upon completion of my undergraduate studies, I intend to apply to graduate school to further my knowledge in physics and progress towards a career in academia.

About me: I spent 12 years living in Australia before moving to Minnesota to complete high school. Upon graduation, I chose 果冻传媒 as my next step, driven by a passion to represent and advocate for this college community. Currently pursuing a major in Neuroscience, I am eager to embark on my sophomore year this fall. Beyond academics, I enjoy indulging in my favorite hobbies of biking and playing video games. These activities not only provide relaxation but also foster my creativity and problem-solving skills. About me: Hi Everyone! Born and raised in Nigeria, I'm a very bubbly and enthusiastic person, spreading positive energy wherever I go. I love being outside and exploring new cuisines. About me: Hello! I'm a junior majoring in biology with a chemistry minor, and I'm thrilled to connect with you. Hailing from Nigeria, I migrated to the United States in 2022 at 17, seeking new challenges and opportunities. Beyond academics, I find joy in my two part-time jobs: Undergraduate Laboratory Assistant at the renowned USDA-ARS lab, where I contribute to pioneering research, and Dining Associate. Additionally, I'm engaged in cutting-edge research in the Crawley lab, utilizing confocal microscopy to capture z-stack images of wildtype and mutated myosin 7a protein - a vital project focused on understanding autosomal dominant hearing loss. When not in the lab or classroom, you can find me experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, baking sweet treats, or staying up-to-date with my favorite shows. As an ambassador for NSM at 果冻传媒, I'm eager to share my experiences and support your academic journey!

About me: Hello! I am an enthusiastic NSM student studying Cellular/molecular biology. I chose this degree because it not only interests me but is a field of study that I could see myself working in professionally! Outside of NSM, I am an RA at the Honors Academic Village and a medical scribe. Some of my hobbies include playing disc golf and video games with friends, Journaling, video creation and photography, and piano! I intend to join Qian Chen's research team this coming school year.

About me: I am an aspiring physician dedicated to representing the wonderful aspects of natural science and mathematics at 果冻传媒. In my time as an ambassador, I am excited to have the opportunity to share my excitement and knowledge with others and to encourage students to become involved in these areas as well. I hope to leave a lasting impact in healthcare and to positively contribute to the lives of the underprivileged. Besides my work as an ambassador, I am also part of the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA), Autism Advocates, MEDLIFE, and many more organizations here at 果冻传媒. Additionally, I am involved in undergraduate research studying Parkinson鈥檚 disease. With every endeavor, whether it's mentoring students, participating in community service projects, or making an effort to alleviate community conflicts, I am driven by a sense of purpose and the belief that collective efforts can truly make a difference. My main goal in life is to give back to the community around us, and I hope to continue that through the NSM Ambassador program.

On campus I am actively involved in various organizations and leadership roles. I serve as Associate Justice for Student Government, Recruitment Chair for Project Sunshine, a member of the MTM Committee for Kesem, Secretary for Lambda Sigma Sophomore Honors Society, Packing Chair for The Bridge and Director of Sponsorship for Big Event. Additionally, I am currently working with MSS Scribes and conducting research in a chemistry lab. I am excited to meet everyone and look forward to a fantastic year ahead!

About me: Hello! I am a biology major with a concentration in neuroscience. I am a sophomore by year, but senior standing based on my credit hours. Post-graduation, I plan to attend medical school and specialize in pediatric neuropsychiatry, driven by my passion to help others and make a meaningful impact in their lives. On campus, I served as an NSM peer mentor and currently, I am involved in 果冻传媒 organizations such as 鈥淭he P.E.A.C.E. Project鈥� and 鈥淏y Your Side鈥� (BYS). Beyond campus, I work as a medical transcriber and volunteer at an elementary school, pharmacy and hospital. Participating in Dr. Bambers Neuroscience research within the NSM department has been the highlight of my undergraduate journey, providing me with a unique perspective on science beyond classroom learning and allowing me to contribute to scientific discoveries. With dedication to compassion and discovery, I aim to positively impact the medical field and those around me. I am very fortunate to be an NSM ambassador and to share my expertise and experiences to assist students in navigating and attaining success in NSM.

About me: I am a dedicated student pursuing a dual major in Data Science and Economics at the 果冻传媒. Originally from Nepal, I am deeply engaged in using data analytics to address economic challenges. At 果冻传媒, I actively participate in several extracurricular activities, including the Cybercrime Awareness Campaign and serving as a College Ambassador. I have been recognized for my leadership abilities with the Courageous Leader Scholarship through my involvement with Phi Gamma Delta. Kaela Bartley
Major: Environmental Science

About me: After growing up in scouting and earning the Eagle Scout award, my passion for environmental science rocketed and landed me at the University of Toledo. Here I have taken a variety of classes from calc 2, biodiversity, intro to the environment and gen chem 1. I have also had the opportunity to join a variety of clubs including SEA, 果冻传媒 Student Green Fund, GUTS and WEX. I am ecstatic to continue my educational journey here while showcasing the opportunities 果冻传媒 offers. The arboretum, classroom garden, green house and the restored Irwin Prairie are some of the many features of the 果冻传媒 Env Sci program I have had a chance to experience.

About me: Hi everyone! I am an incoming sophomore at 果冻传媒, majoring in Biological Sciences with a pre-medical concentration and a minor in Chemistry. On campus, I鈥檓 involved in several organizations such as HOSA, Bridge, Lambda Sigma and my fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon. Ever since coming to campus last year, I have developed interests in cell biology, and now do research in the Chen Lab, where we are exploring the molecular mechanisms that govern cell division. Outside of academia I am a huge basketball fan (Go Knicks!) and also love the outdoors. Being from Portland, Oregon, activities like hiking and camping are personal favorites. On campus, you might see me at the Rec Center, playing basketball with friends, or on the 5th floor of the library locking in on classwork before an exam. I am excited to represent NSM as an ambassador and look forward to seeing and interacting with all of the college鈥檚 faculty and students this year!

On campus, I鈥檓 a part of various organizations such as The Peace Project, HOSA, Lamba Sigma, The Bridge and Project Sunshine. Additionally, I am also in phlebotomist training to expand my healthcare knowledge. Off-campus, you鈥檒l usually find me listening to the newest Taylor Swift song or at Carlson Library studying with my friends. I am originally from California, so I love a good day on the beach, swimming and enjoying the sunset.
