Choosing and Declaring Your Major
Choosing or Changing Majors:
Deciding on a major or career path is an important and sometimes daunting task. It is not uncommon for students who were once sure of their intended major to change one or several times to a new one. For family members, it is difficult to watch your formerly focused and decisive students become uncertain and confused about whether their interests and abilities are best addressed by the chosen major.
Students are encouraged to seek advice from their academic advisers, instructors, faculty members in a variety of disciplines, departmental directors of undergraduate disciplines, other students, Rocket Career Center staff or other staff members in student services offices. In deciding on a major, students are encouraged to take advantage of the services offered by the undergraduate advisers in the various college Student Service Offices and by the Rocket Career Center, which offers career counseling and assessments to help determine aptitude and interests.
