Acute stroke studies
The thrombolytic agent desmoteplase is a Ìýnaturally occurring protease found in the in the saliva of the bat Desmodus rotundus. Desmoteplase dissolves occluding blood clots and restores blood flow to the affected brain area Ìýin a time-window extending up to 9 hours after symptom onset.
You may be eligible to participate if you have a diagnosis of stroke based on a physical examination conducted by a neurologist.Ìý Administration of the study medication is to begin withinÌý9 hours of stroke symptoms
